First and foremost, THANK YOU to everyone who continues to support our foundation! Our 8th Annual HITS Foundation Golf Tournament took place on Monday, August 14th, 2017 at Brierwood Country Club and was a HUGE success thanks to all of you.
We wanted to give you a quick update what all of your generous donations have been going to over the past year or so! Last fall we were able to pay for 5 children to participate in hockey in the WNY area. We purchased Christmas presents for several families in need in various parts of WNY. In addition, we partnered with We Rock the Spectrum Kids Gym in Derby, NY to host a Christmas party for 7 wonderful families in need. During the party the kids were able to play in the gym, decorate crafts, have a warm meal & Santa came to deliver presents to not only the children, but the parents as well. In March of this year we were approached by the Canisius College MBA Program to host a bowling tournament with all the proceeds benefitting the HITS Foundation. The graduate students planned the event completely on their own and we were fortunate enough to be able to take part & donate a few prizes for the event. In May of this year, the HITS Foundation sponsored a boat in the Buffalo Sabres Alumni Foundation Fishing Tournament. In June of this year, the HITS Foundation sponsored the 5th Annual Frederick Garrasi III Memorial 5K benefitting their scholarship fund. The FGIII 5K awards two scholarships to graduating seniors at Lake Shore Central Schools in honor of Frederick on a yearly basis. We hosted a very special guest, Liz, at our golf tournament this year as our tournament donation recipient. Liz has inspired us in her battle with Leukemia and we want her to know that everyone in the HITS Foundation family, including all of you, have her best wishes at heart!
For those of you following the news on our multipurpose facility, we wanted to give you an update! We are moving forward in the process of building a multipurpose facility at the McKinley Park Inn site in Hamburg, NY. The facility is planned to include two ice rinks, two fields, and an education center amongst other tenants! We are currently in the planning phase working with the very talented architects and engineers. We will keep you updated as things progress!
